500indie is looking for a single national sponsor, and mutliple local sponsors for a series of music video competitions in Denver, Boston, New York, Washington DC, and Raleigh/Durham for 2006.
How do the competitions work?
The competitions call for requests from local filmmakers and music video directors, then pre-select the best videos for a competition (or in smaller areas, simply all submitted videos). The competitions are held at a local music venue or independent theater. Each attendee receives a ballot on entry. Ballots are collected after the last video ends. An awards ceremony follows as soon as the results are tallied, within 20 minutes.
DVDs with all entrants are sold at the competitions, on our website, and at local music stores.
What kind of exposure will you get?
The national sponsor is emphasized as much as possible in both the competition as well as on products. Your logo, name, and/or information will appear on:
- advertising posters (150 per comp.)
- flyers (at least 200 per)
- pens and ballots at door (national sponsor only)
- verbal mention at beginning and end of competition by the MC
- on menu of dvd and after all videos, and can optionallly include a video spot on the DVD
- on a banner or hung at each comp
- at end of videos viewed online through our website and interstitials on our internet TV show
- national will appear on every page of the site, locals will appear only on the localized pages.
- The DVDs and posters from the competitions will be available after the competitions on request.
- free attendance to the/each competition for two representatives.
- we can also offer to let a rep speak for a couple of minutes while ballots are being counted.
Why this competition?
Filmmaking has left the realm of Hollywood. The creative force is flowing from millions of people that can now easily afford to do what would have been prohibitive even to small companies a decade ago. This is your opportunity to advertise to this young, hip, tech-savvy audience.
We are looking for one national sponsor and, per event, three local sponsors. If the national sponsor is a bank, we will open a business account, and do all of our banking with the sponsor. The sposorship will last through the end of 2006, or eight competitions, whichever ends later. In addition, we will accept local sponsorship at a level only advertised on the website in exchange for topical prizes.
Our first competition (at the hi-dive in 2005) had attendance of approximately 250 people, with about 200 of them voting. Audience ages were primarily early twenties to mid-thirties. We printed 300 DVDs recently and already have about 100 in circulation. We expect this number to increase, and to be larger at future competitions, where we will have DVDs available at the shows.
