What people are saying about our Competitions and DVDs

Us in the Press

Denver Post April 28th, 2006:

Last year's inaugural 500indie Music Video Competition collected music videos from a wide swath of local acts - including jazz, indie pop, death metal and comedy - and displayed the results for an audience of boozy Hi-Dive voters. This year, co-organizer Rad Anzulovic expects an even bigger turnout for Denver's premier underground video contest. Will we see anything as instantly hilarious as Ben Kronberg's "McRap," or as pleasantly bizarre as 13 & God's "Soft Atlas"? Find out who snags the $500 in cash and prizes (and prestige, natch) at 8 tonight at the Oriental Theater, 4335 W. 44th Ave., $5.| John Wenzel

Letter to accompany submissions for review

I'm sending the DVD from the 500indie 2005 Colorado Independent Music Video Competition for you to review. It was our first ever competition, and exceeded all of our goals: From quality of submissions to number of attendees. We were able to raise the cash prizes during the competition because of the great turnout! The second competition is less than a half-year away, happening in Denver mid-April 2006.

The DVD includes all of the music videos that were shown and voted on during the competition. We included all videos, but will narrow the field in future competitions. Because of the variety of music for the videos submitted, the DVD is an eclectic mix that is a gauge of the status quo of Colorado music video directors, it's a wonderful catalog, showing off little known Colorado talent that doesn't have much opportunity to be seen.

It's up to you how to review this, but it may be more interesting to review the competition, from the concept to the implementation, last years and the upcoming, rather than the disc itself. If you have any questions about the competition, please check the website http://www.500indie.com/ or get back to me, and i'd be more than happy to answer them.

In addition to a review, any other means in which you could help get the word out, sell the dvds, and promote the next competition would be greatly appreciated. You will be supporting Colorado independent filmmaking (a art with little arena) and the Colorado local music scene.
